Wissenstransfer
Dear Britta and Dorothea, I introduced a new task for our students, matching one junior and one senior as Exchange pair. The two students contact each other four times a month to exchange information, knowledge and experience and thus will help each other to improve certain skills faster in achieving their goal. Min Thu, first year Community Health student is an exchange partner for Aung Min Oo, second year student from Magway Medical University. University of Community Health was founded for those students who wish to become doctors but they have lower marks in their matrix exam. The entry of Universities in our country is ranged from highest scores to bottom as Medicine, Dental Medicine, Advanced Tech, IT, Marine, Nursing, Education, Pharmacy, Economics etc. Medical students after finishing the University prefer to go to big cities but there is high demand of Medical staff in rural areas. To fill this need, University of Community Health was founded. Medical students study 7 years whereas CH students study for 4 years. Students after graduation from Community Health work in villages as Medical Officer and they give necessary medical help as a doctor and a nurse without hospital or clinic. It's highly valued in villages or small towns. There are more job opportunities for these graduates in UN/NGOs/INGOs. Aung Min Oo got a chance to go and attend Story telling workshop in Sagaing last week. When he was back, he shared what he has learnt with Min Thu immediately. Min Thu is now able to find out his strength and his future project and so he is so grateful to his senior exchange partner, Aung Min Oo. It's amazing to see how the little idea works! Many thanks to Tina and Tanja! Best regards, Khin
