I visited Markehnen solar water on 15-November-2022. At that time, it was running perfectly. But two days ago, I got news that their tube well was damaged. This is the new tube well about the same age as our solar water system. And a lot of sand comes out of the tube well . So, the village people said that they will call me and ask for some suggestions. Now I heard that they might dig the new tube well or they will try another tube well in the center of the village to use solar power. And I will also go there soon to see what they will do and what we can give a good idea for them. Now the village has electricity. But nowadays the electricity outage is very long. So, they are willing to keep using our solar power. We will see we could also move the solar water station to the center of the village. I will keep informed after I visit there again. It happened at the beginning of December 2022. Anyway, if we calculate until 1st of December 2022, we already reduced 3165 gallons of diesel and it is the same amount of reducing 31,903 kg of Carbon Dioxide. /Min Min

We visited on 18th of September 2022 Carina Win school. The school is running well. There are 195 children with 11 teachers. The school headmistress is the same one. She was so happy to meet us again and again. Because she is always talking about our good memories about our school building. She was very proud of how she worked for our school building. Now they are building a new school building from the ministry of Education. And she does not express that much happiness. Our building was in a good shape and used very well. All children up to 12 years have been vaccinated in the school. And so also, the teachers. At the moment they do not have any special needs. And the headmistress sends a lot of greetings. /Min Min

The Name of the village is called Da Gar Gyi. In this village there are 207 families with 1012 people. In this village they have two tube-wells. There is the electricity in the village. But this is one of the first villages which began with no diesel generator. As soon as they finished the new tube-well we donated the solar pumping system. So this tube well does not smoke at all. It has 900 feet depth, and the pump is at 540 feet. The pump power is 7.5 Hp. They distribute the water to the village by pipeline and people pay 200 Kyats per unit. It is around 50 Gallons of water. The village needs 12,000 Gallons per day and now we pump 1200 Gallons of water per hour. And we can pump 5 Hours with our solar system. So it covers about the half amount of the water needed from the village. But now they buy the electricity meter to pump up at night. And now they 100 % fully cover their daily need for water. So this tube-well is the zero CO2 emission tube-well. /Min Min

This is a big village with 720 families and there are 3200 people. The Name of the village is called Sin Ka. In this village they have three deep tube wells. We donated a solar pumping system for one tube well. It has 1000 feet depth, and the pump is at 720 feet. The pump power is 10 Hp and the diesel generator took three gallons of diesel per hour. They pump formally 4.5 hours a day with diesel. So, they used 5 Gallons of diesel per day. They distribute the water to the village by pipeline and people pay 600 Kyats per unit. It is around 50 Gallons of water. The village needs 35,000 Gallons per day and now we pump 1500 Gallons of water per hour. And we can pump 6 Hours with our solar system. And it saved 6762 liters of diesel per year and will benefit 7,3 Million Kyats = 5.200 Euro for the village people. But for this tube well covered 30 % of their daily water needs for the village. And for the rest of the water they need they are still using the other two tube wells with diesel generators. /Min Min

Carina Win is the branch middle school. So it got no chance to open in this education year. Until now we have no information when the school will open. So all the children are staying at home and some are studying at the tuition with the hope to open the school again soon. This year they have the normal harvest and they grow peanuts and sesames. They know about our five star’s village program. They would like to have the tree plantation program. Now they have our Kindergarten building and a PAUL water filter. So it is our two stars village. /Min Min

Die Stimmen der Kinder schallen uns entgegen als wir auf den Schulhof fahren. Die Schulleiterin begrüßt uns freundlich. Das Gebäude ist in sehr gutem Zustand, alle Fensterscheiben sind in Ordnung. In den beiden Räumen sind die Allerkleinsten untergebracht, von 3-5 Jahren. In einem Raum wurde ein mobiler Holzboden gelegt. Da sitzen die Kinder nicht direkt auf dem Boden. Im einen Raum sind über 40 Kinder, im anderen Raum sind es 15. Alle sind sehr glücklich mit dem Gebäude.
PAUL steht im Lehrerzimmer und wird gut genutzt.
Es gibt seit einiger Zeit ein neues Schulkomitee, das leider nicht hinter dem Dorfleiter steht, der der Schule wohlgesinnt war. Inzwischen hat die Schule weniger Wasser und wurde der Stromzähler entfernt, also hat die Schule auch keinen Strom mehr. Das ist sehr bedauerlich. Die Schulleiterin bricht sogar in Tränen aus, so sehr belastet sie die Situation. Sie will doch nur das Beste für die Kinder. Wir können sie nur trösten und ihr Mut machen ihren eingeschlagenen Weg weiter zu gehen. Wir hoffen, dass sich bald etwas zum Positiven ändern wird. Auch der Dorfleiter hat sich mit uns über das Problem unterhalten.
Das Dorf würde gerne eine SW Anlage bauen. Es gibt eine 10 PS Pumpe, aber dafür brauchen wir mehr Solarzellen und kostet die Anlage 14.000 Euro. Dafür haben wir im Moment keinen Spender. Also warten wir, auch angesichts des Problems mit dem Schulkomitee, erst einmal ab.

Die beiden Klassenzimmer sind voller kleiner Kinder. Es gibt einen Pre KG, in dem sind 40 Kinder und im KG selbst 15. Das Gebäude ist wie zu erwarten in sehr gutem Zustand, da gibt es nichts zu bemängeln, schön zu sehen, dass beide Zimmer voller Kinder sind.
Der Schulhof ist in untadeligem Zustand, alles sehr sauber und aufgeräumt. Neben dem Gebäude hat eine australische NGO einen Regenwasserspeicher gebaut, in dem bereits Wasser ist, es hat nämlich geregnet. Das ist gut, kann mehr Wasser gespeichert werden!
Der PAUL wurde kurz vor Schuljahresbeginn hierher gebracht, ist aber noch nicht in Gebrauch. Sie bekommen nächste Woche eine Erhöhung, auf die er gestellt werden wird. Das Trinkwasser wird hier in tönernen Gefäßen aufbewahrt. Wir erklären den Lehrern, wie wichtig es ist, dass die Kinder ihre Hände waschen, denn mit schmutzigen Händen kann das Wasser auch verschmutzt werden, diese Erfahrung machen wir ja bereits. Die Schulleiterin macht einen sehr aktiven und guten Eindruck auf mich und ich hoffe, dass wir weiterhin einen guten Draht zur Schule behalten können.
Die anderen Gebäude sind auch gut in Schuss, obwohl sie älter sind. Es gibt keine Trennwände.

Heute war es ein sehr besonderer Tag für die Menschen vom Dar War Dorf und für den Spender Tony, der hier auf dem Bild zusammen mit seiner Frau zu sehen ist. Denn es wurde die Eröffnung des Carina KG gefeiert. Mit festlich geschmückten Ochsenkarren wurden die Ehrengäste abgeholt und zur Schule gefahren. Dort erwarteten die Schüler, Lehrer und Dorfbewohner sehnsüchtig die Gäste. Tony betonte in seiner Rede wie wichtig Bildung ist und dass er selbst auch Lehrer ist. Seine Frau und auch die Tochter Carina, nach der das Gebäude benannt ist, sind ebenso Lehrer. Er erinnerte daran, dass in USA seine Großelterngeneration noch ohne Schulbildung gelebt hat und das für ihn der Ansporn war in die Schule zu gehen. Er ist sehr glücklich, dass er mit seinem Einsatz den Kindern die Möglichkeit zum Lernen geben kann. Er hofft, dass er ab und zu vorbei schauen kann und den Kontakt zur Schule so aufrecht erhalten kann. Die Kinder haben danach mit vollem Einsatz und verschiedenen Tänzen zur Freude aller Gäste, einen Einblick in die burmesische Kultur gegeben. ub

Feierliches Groundbreaking für einen neuen KindergartenDurch eine Änderung des Schulsystems ist der Kindergarten nun in Myanmar zum Bestandteil der Schule geworden. Eine „Pre School" für die 4- und 5-jährigen ist der Wunsch, der Bedarf an Gebäuden ist groß. Wir freuen uns, dass wir mit dem CARINA Kindergarten ein weiteres Projekt auf den Weg bringen können. Das nette Dorf ist in der Nähe von Bagan. Es ist das 70. Schulprojekt der Stiftunglife. Tony, der sympathische Spender kam aus Bangkok um selbst einen Eckpfosten für das Gebäude in die Erde zu bringen. Tony ist Amerikaner. In seiner Jugend hat er ein paar Jahre in Deutschland gelebt, jetzt lebt er in Bangkok. Thank you Tony 👍
